JUNEAU GOLD RUSH DAY'S
IN LATE 1989 THE JUNEAU GOLD RUSH COMMISION WAS ORGANIZED AS A TRIBUTE TO JUNEAU'S GOLD PAST AND PROMISING FUTURE. TODAY THIS TRIBUTE CONTINUES AS OUR ANNUAL WEEKEND LONG LOGGING AND MINING COMPETITION.
Opening ceremonies start at 9:00AM on Saturday, with the mining events. Competitor's will test their skill in mucking, drilling, and spike driving. Sunday's logging event's include - Axe throwing, chopping, hand bucking, power saw bucking, climbing and log rolling. All are welcome to participate. Men and Women compete both day's individualy and as teams. Registration for event's begins in the morning both day's. Those not participating will still have plenty to do with other activaties thru out the weekend that include Pony ride's, kids events, excavator competition, gold panning along with lots of good food and local vendors under the big red tent.
